The constant search for alternatives to traditional fuels, both for economic reasons and environmental issues, makes biodiesel of vital importance to preserve the environment. We believe in the importance of combining traditional fuels with the most ecological ones to ensure that our group is always sustainable and respects our precious nature. It is vitally important that we all take care of the natural resources that the planet offers us and it is our responsibility. promote the use and development of biofuels, for this we have a biofuels plant in Cerceda, A Coruña, which will soon begin to produce 40,000 tons per year of biodiesel from recycled oils, with the aim of expanding its production to 80,000 tons per year.

Biodiesel is a synthetic fuel that combines diesel with a variable percentage of vegetable oils or animal fats obtained from natural components. Its current nomenclature uses the letter B, like the rest of diesel fuels, and the number that accompanies it indicates the percentage of oil in the mixture, with B5 being the one with the smallest amount of oil.

In relation to petroleum derivatives, biodiesel itself is more environmentally friendly, since the raw material comes from seeds of plants such as soybeans, rapeseed or sunflower. There is also the possibility of using recycled oils from the food industry.

Due to this, it generates fewer polluting emissions and particles that are harmful to health, and also lacks sulfur, which contributes to the greenhouse effect.
